About Auberge Cafe du Sud

The Auberge du Sud is located right at the edge of the dunes of Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga, and is an ideal base for taking a desert trip or simply wishing to enjoy this stunning stretch of the Sahara. For more than 25 years the Noughou family has been sharing their unique Berber welcome in this part of southern Morocco. The location of the hotel, isolated by the dunes, makes it the perfect site to serve as a base of exploration of the Sahara in Morocco.

All rooms and suites are decorated in Saharan style with modern comforts.

  • Berber Suites have a private bathroom and air conditioning as well as a private terrace.
  • Standard Rooms are more simply furnished  -they also have a private bathroom and air conditioning and are available with or without a private terrace.

Facilities

The staff of the Auberge du Sud are all fully involved in the running of the hotel and the desert excursions so they certainly offer a seamless experience. Guests staying in this remote area are automatically reserved on to half board basis. The hotel's chefs create traditional dishes from the region and meals can be enjoyed by the pool or in their authentically decorated dining area (fabric covered walls and comfortable cushions, local arts and crafts and live music).

The auberge has the benefit of a swimming pool with views of the dunes.
