Itinerary
Arrival into Marrakech and private transfer directly to your chosen riad or hotel; balance of day to explore on foot near to your accommodation.
Take delivery of your hire car at your riad. Head south across High Atlas Mountains via the stunning Tichka Pass, possible detours en route to Ouarzazate include visits to the Kasbahs of Telouet & Ait Ben Haddou. You have a good choice of different locations for your overnight stay.
Day 3 - we suggest driving south, through the Tizi n'Tinififft, down the stunning Draa Valley to Agdz (e.g. stay at Kasbah Azul).
Day 4 - drive along the great southern road to the oasis at N'Kob and then onwards via Al Nif and Rissani to Erfoud or you may like to continue all the way to Merzouga. Your choice on this night is to stay at a small hotel facing the dunes or head off into the Sahara on a desert adventure, staying at a Bedouin camp deep inside the great sand sea of Erg Chebbi.
Day 5 - return from your night in the desert and freshen up at Auberge du Sud at the edge of the dunes; onward drive (or 4WD transfer) back to Erfoud. Continue your journey back towards Ouarzazate via a combination of places. Stay overnight at one (or two) of Tineghr (for Todra Gorge), Boumalne (for Dades Valley) or Skoura (for the kasbah & oasis).
Day 6 - free day in the south to do some walking in the gorges or the Valley of the Roses, maybe exploring kasbahs. An alternative would be to head north along the much less-travelled mountain road via the Tizi n'Outfi from Skoura to Demnate. Allowing you also visit the fabulous Cascades d'Ouzoud on Day 7.
Day 7 - final day of your desert circuit takes you back over the High Atlas either returning the way you came through the Tichka Pass or along the "back road" from Ait Ben Haddou to Telouet (or via Tizi n'Outfi - see alternative Day 6). Once back in Marrakech you can drop off hire car towards the end of the day.
Days 8 & 9 - two full days for sightseeing in Marrakech. A half day private guided city tour is included but this can be upgraded to a full day upon request. There are many other sightseeing excursions and activities, such as a cookery class, quad bikes in the Palmeraie, guided day hike, etc. available to pre-book. If you choose to keep the car for an extra day then you could visit the coast at Essaouira on a day trip.
