Activity code: PT1110
Duration: 1 Day
Paklenica National Park Cycling is the best way to explore the Paklenica Riviera. Start from the Hotel Vicko and bike through small villages under the mountain. The road will take you to the entrance of the Paklenica National Park from where you'll walk to the archaeological site of Paklarić fort where prehistoric and medieval ceramics were discovered. It is believed that the fort was built in the late Middle Ages and its role was to supervise the important communication from the sea through Paklenica to Lika and back. From the fort there is a magnificent view of the Paklenica Riviera. From there you'll follow an educational trail along the border of the National Park that leads through old villages all the way to Reljan village. The educational trail "A Short Journey through History" is a part of a pedestrian and bike trail. It is equipped with five educational/informative panels presenting the history of the area from prehistoric times to the present day. You'll come back to Starigrad on smaller roads with lovely views. There also might be time for swimming and relaxing on one of the beaches while cycling Paklenica Park.
