About Adriatic Islands
Whether travelling by boat or car the journey along the Southern Dalmatian Coastline is spectacular. The Adriatic Islands offer beautiful scenery, a variety of historical sights and mediaeval walled towns. For example, Hvar, often described as the loveliest Dalmatian island, is the sunniest spot in Croatia; Korcula with its Venetian citadel jutting into the sea, the picturesque island of Brac and the beautifully lush island of Mljet are also popular destinations.
There are many smaller and more off-the-beaten-track islands, too, such as Rab, Krk and Cres in the north and Lopud and Sipan in the south. You may also wish to consider Vis island which was closed to visitors until the end of the Cold War as its strategic and semi-isolated location meant it was a secret submarine base and hideaway for senior personnel; today it is a quiet place to visit and the closest location for boat trips to the famous Blue Cave.
All islands can be reached using the scheduled ferry service if you are exploring by car but to truly "Island Hop" it is easiest to use the fast ferry catamaran services which are passenger-only and sail between the islands rather than having to go on and off the mainland each time. We will plan your best choice of routes and can pre-book the catamaran tickets to guarantee passage.
We look forward to being of service.
