About Logar Valley
The Logar Valley is one of Europe’s most enchanting and tranquil Alpine glacial valleys, nestled deep in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. A part of the Solčavsko region, it is a haven where nature and tradition coexist in harmony. Recognised with the CIPRA “Future in the Alps” award for sustainable management, the valley offers visitors a wealth of outdoor activities including hiking, cycling, horse riding, and photography, all set against breathtaking alpine scenery. Natural highlights include cascading waterfalls, alpine meadows, a 1,000-year-old yew tree, historic mountain cottages, and a cave once used by Ice Age hunters.
A journey along the Solčava Panoramic Road elevates the experience even further. Winding through peaks, valleys, and pastoral farms, the route connects some of the most beautiful parts of the Solčava Region, including the Logar Valley, Robanov Kot, Matkov Kot, and Podolševa. Along the way, visitors encounter twenty unforgettable stops filled with natural beauty, traditional farms, and cultural tales. Follow the legend of Krištof the shepherd boy tracing his lost sheep, or uncover the mysteries of Lintver the dragon, weaving folklore into the landscape.
This hidden gem is not just a destination, but a journey through timeless alpine experiences. Whether you’re exploring the peaceful valley, cycling the panoramic road, or simply soaking in the serenity of the mountains, the Logar Valley and the Solčava region promise an unforgettable retreat into Slovenia’s natural and cultural heart.
We look forward to being of service.
