Excursions by boat to the fabulous Blue & Green Caves from Komiza, Vis Island.
Activity code: VSEX01
Duration: 1 Day
Unique day trips on the sea which include the majestic Blue Cave & the fascinating Monk Seal Cave.
Experience the world-renowned Blue Cave, whose ethereal silvery-blue colour is created by the sun as it bathes the inside of the cave through an opening in the roof and is reflected by the sandy surface below. Widely regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful natural phenomena, this cave is a must-see.
The Green Cave is where you'll get a chance to swim inside and enjoy the emerald light show. Nearby, discover a picturesque hidden inlet called Stiniva, where you can enjoy a delicious swim or just relax and sun bathe.
From Komiza it is just a 15-min ride by speed boat to the Blue Cave. When you arrive on Biševo at Mezoporat bay, you get off the boat and the skipper takes you to a small wooden boat which takes you into the cave. The cave entrance is really small, so at a certain point you need to crouch in the centre of the boat while the skipper manages the boat into the cave. A brief stay in Mezoporat bay and then return to Komiža.
Duration 1.5 hours approx.
NB. as we operate this trip through a local company from Vis island they have the so called "speed line" access to the caves so you are avoiding waiting up to hours in the lines.
* entrance fee (Blue cave) is payable on the spot (100 kunas).
This tour is guaranteed.
Transfer from your hotel in Vis Town is included.

After the Blue Cave it is a further 10 minute boat ride to the Monk Seal Cave, another cave on Bisevo Island where the Mediterranean monk seal used to reside. Most of the Adriatic habitats of the seal were in the Vis archipelago. According to some sources, the colonies of this marine mammal disappeared from Croatian outlying islands in the 1960s. You are allowed to swim inside the Monk Seal Cave.
